Your opinion, please.

I bought this window in the spring from a coworker who had recently done some remodeling.  I liked the look for my summer decorating and would really like to continue using it this fall on my fireplace mantle.  One side is the original wood color and the other is white.  I used the white side for my summer décor but wondered if the wood color might be better for fall.  After trying both sides with a wreath I quickly put together, I'm just not sure which I like better.

What do you think?

I also added some fall garland I had on hand.  Not sure I'll use it if I choose the white window.

Thanks so much for your help!!

I love your window. I agree that the white side looks more "summery" and the wood side is better for fall. I think it needs more contrast from the color of the brick though. Do you have something else that you could layer between the brick and the wood window?

I love your fall mantel!!! I really like the natural wood tone for the fall...it just feels so rich and warm! I could just jump on over and sit there by the fire!!! Beautiful! Have a wonderful weekend!!

Ellis: I agree, the white is pretty stark. I may paint that white side cream. It might soften if up. The brown side does need more contrast, though. Thanks for your thought!

N @ My Garden Diaries: I'm liking the wood tone for fall, too, but think it needs something else around the brick...still thinking. Thanks for your kind words!

I think they both look great, but I love the look of the wood. Great vignette. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty

To me the white is good for summer but I definitely like the wood side for fall. I might even paint or stain it a little darker for more contrast!

I really like the old window and have one very similar in my kitchen above the cabinets. I think you need to paint the natural wood side to give more contrast. The way it is now, it completely blends into your brick and you hardly see it. I would probably go with a deep, rich red tone and paint it kind of "shabby-like" -- no sanding, or perfect painting.
