First Snow

The first snow of Winter came with the first of the year.  It was a thick snow, the kind that sticks to trees, bushes, everything, in big puffs.
So pretty!

The snow came heavy for awhile and fell so silently.

When the sun finally came out, just a bit, those out in this wonderland marveled at the changed landscape.

Everyday objects took on new appearances

as if they were attending a masquerade.

We counted FIVE sets of Cardinals at the bird feeder this year!

They make stunning subjects ... if you are fast enough.

I hope you're enjoying the winter in your neck of the woods!

Cardinals in the snow was one of my bright spots when I lived in Ohio. There is nothing nicer than a bright red cardinal in a world of black and white. GREAT photos!

Sublime photos of your wintry landscape. How wonderful your landscape looks clothed in it's wintry garments. The red Cardinal looks stunning sitting against all that glorious white!

Not living in a climate with snow, I don't get to experience "first snow". I do remember several Christmas ski trips over the last few years when we actually got snowed in and it was magical.

I love each of the shots of the colorful birds.

Thanks for Sharing Your Cup!

What lovely snow shots and great cardinal captures. We've not had that kind of heavy snow yet, that blankets and adorns all of the bushes...love seeing yours :)
