A Blue Woodland Setting

These salad plates were a recent thrift store find and I think they're so pretty!  I'm not sure of their maker, as there are no marks of any kind on the back.  Each one shows a different wild fowl.  One of our 'dreams' when Wonderful Hubby retires is to build a smaller and more 'old person-friendly' home.  WH would like a rustic looking room in the basement and I thought these might be great on a wall or even to eat a slice of pizza.
For now, though, I'm using them in a little more elegant setting.
Each plate is different.  This one has Pheasants.

Are these Partridges?  WH says they look like a Western Quail.
Guess he'd know.
Wild Guinea
 And Wild Turkeys.
If anyone knows anything about this set,
I'd love to find out more.  They have a very aged look about them including a bit of crazing and are lighter in weight than modern plates.

To complete the setting, I used a lace table cloth, dark blue placemats, Pier 1 napkins, white plates, vintage flatware and my lusterware glasses.  These are from my dear MIL and were featured last summer in this post.

Here's a close up of them.
The sun came out today and our temperatures warmed to nearly 60 degrees!
I guess this is our January Thaw.  Last year we endured a long,
frigid winter but so far, this winter hasn't been that bad.
I've really enjoyed these last several days!

I hope you're enjoying your January!  I'll be joining these parties to
see what great ideas and inspiration you're sharing.

I am in love with your pretty wild fowl plates. My goodness that was one more wonderful find. They are just lovely. You created a wonderful tablescape to showcase them. The luster ware glasses, place mats, and the linens are perfect with the blue in the plates.

I love your dishes! What a fabulous thrift find. Each bird is just gorgeous! Hubby is probably right, I thought they looked like some kind of a quail. Thanks for sharing them with SYC. No help on any info.
