Goldenrod

This table was inspired by that lowly meadow weed, Goldenrod.  Lately, it's been blooming all over these parts.

It's a simple setting, just black, white and gold.

I added the succulent arrangement purchased at our state master gardener conference.  I though it went well with the table.  Succulents are new to me so I've been reading up on their care.  Think I can keep them this healthy looking?

I would be remiss if I didn't mention this table also reflects the colors of Old MIZZOU, the university all in this home hold dear.  This past weekend, our football team beat the South Carolina Gamecocks in a heart-stopper, 21-20!

Love how you have used goldenrod. I think it is beautiful...however, if I am closed in with it the allergies are CRAZY! But I do love the looks of it. Great table! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

The golden rod has been beautiful (and prolific) this year. Your lovely tablescape is a wonderful representation of seasonal beauty. The black and gold colors give the table a bit of drama. Very pretty!

The goldenrod is the perfect bloom for this time of year. What a pretty color combination and I love your napkins with their decorative trim.
Wow, that succulent arrangement is fabulous. They are so interesting in texture and color. Enjoy caring for it!

Beautiful table! I'm allergic to goldenrod, so I can't use it. Thanks for letting me enjoy it through your photos! Black and Gold are my school colors, too, but I won't boast about any wins. They're having a rough season of years! Looks like cool football weather is ahead this weekend. Enjoy! :-)

The goldenrod looks wonderful as an accent. I've been admiring it around here too. Most people think they are allergic to it but I hear it's ragweed that is the culprit. I like the color combo you chose to go with the goldenrod. I tried succulents this year also and probably should bring them indoors before any frost can kill them. I've never had much luck indoors but I'll give it a try.

We don't have Goldenrod where I live or at least I've never seen it. It looks fabulous on your table. It's a real statement centerpiece, that's for sure! :)

Several neighbors on the cul-de-sac are diehard Mizzou fans, and we just cheer along with them. I went to Rockhurst College here in Kansas City, and my husband went to UMKC for his undergrad work. Neither of those schools had a team, so we're happy to just cheer for Mizzou along with the neighbors!

I've seen tons of goldenrod in the fields near our home, and it's beautiful to look at. I'm tempted to stop my car on the side of the road and whack away at a bunch of it to bring home for the table and entryway. I'm not sure whose property it is, though, so I've curbed my enthusiasm on that. You made "a weed" look like a million bucks! I've never really thought of it as a week because the color is so brilliant and the texture is so cool.

Very pretty tablescape! I hope you're enjoying this considerably cooler weather we're having and that you didn't get too wet in all the rainfall!

Have a good weekend. GO CHIEFS!!! GO ROYALS!!!

Beautiful for Fall! I love Goldenrod, but planting it in a picket fence area at my previous home was a big mistake. It literally took over. The gold is so pretty with the black and white. Succulents are very easy to care for. I have a container similar to yours I planted. I just leave them outside all Winter and they come back nicely. There are a few that aren't hardy to our area. I even have some popping up in the garden where a little piece has dropped and taken root. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
