Winter Birthday

We'll be celebrating Precious Daughter's 25th birthday soon.  When she was younger, I used our Winter/Christmas dishes to set a festive table.  They have pretty wintry scenes on them and I liked keeping them in the hutch through January.  Since I still have them out, I decided to use them this year for her special event!  Here's what I have in mind.

I'm thinking about using the white tablecloth with silver and gold threads.  It was also used in the Silver Forest post.  A simple candle holder with some greenery and a dark red table runner will serve as the centerpiece.

Although these dishes have a Christmas theme with decorated trees and holly, I think the ice skaters, sledders, and snowy scene share a Winter theme, as well.

The cups have two different scene on them.  Here is one side...

 ..and the other.

The salt and pepper shakers and the creamer and sugar bowl
are also two-sided.

About 30 years ago my sister and sister-in-law were collecting Spode's Christmas Tree pattern.  Although I wasn't married, they thought I should start collecting a set of Christmas dishes, too.  I chose this set which was offered through J.C. Penny.  I now have place settings for twelve, as well as four extra dinner plates and eight extra dessert dishes.

These glasses from Old Time Pottery (years ago) coordinate pretty well.

I hope Precious Daughter enjoys her birthday setting!!  We are so proud of the smart, beautiful and loving young woman she is!
