Burgundy Valentine

I've been thinking about using these dishes for a Valentine's celebration every since I found them in one of our local resale shops last fall.
They feature a delicate bouquet of dark pink and purple flowers on a cream background.  Gold highlights and rim provide the perfect finishing touches.
I used a burgundy tablecloth and gold chargers to show them off.
The flatware is from Ross'.
Aren't these delicate pink glasses elegant?
My birthday is this week.  A friend (who loves to inform me I'm STILL older than she is) and Wonderful Hubby gave me these beautiful flowers.
(WH brought the roses!)

Aren't they gorgeous?!!

We're planning to stay home and cook together this Valentine's Day.  The weather is supposed to be quite cold and it sounds like a good evening to snuggle up in front of the fire.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Birthday. I really love the plates. Mike and I will be staying in and cooking this Valentine's Day. I have ordered a large lobster and plan to make Lobster Thermidor. Old fashioned I know, yet delicious! Have a great celebration for your birthday!

Your Valentine's Day/evening plans sound like just the perfect thing to do when the weather is not cooperating! Even if it was 75 and sunny, staying in and cooking together sounds good to me. Why be herded into a crowded restaurant and suffer through substandard service when you can enjoy a quiet evening celebrating what's most important: your love for each other!

You did a beautiful job on your table, and using the burgundy tablecloth really shows off the flowers in your dishware. The flowers you received from your friend and your husband are both beautiful and work so well with your tablescape! My favorite color is pink, so there's no denying their beauty by me!

Happy Birthday to you, dear Zenda! I hope you celebrate the entire week and enjoy every minute of it!!!

Your china is stunning - is it Dresden by chance? Looks a bit like it, if I recall correctly. What a lovely tablescape!

We always stay home on SVD as well - way too crowded and the wait staff is overworked and cranky. We just returned with two huge lobster tails, yay. : - )

Happy St. Valentine's Day to you and yours! ♥
