Spring Is Here!

Spring has finally sprung around here.  I've been a bit preoccupied these last few weeks and haven't felt much like writing but Spring has slowly made it's way into our neighborhood.  Here are a few photos I snapped this afternoon.

My helper, Sallie

Several weeks ago I bought six chicks, three Rhode Island Reds and three Barred Plymouth Rocks.  We've kept them in the kitchen but let them out, supervised of course, a little as the weather allows.

We've bought a cute little hen house.  (I'll call it my early Mother's Day present.)

We have a bit of 'landscaping' to do but isn't it cute?!

This side has outside access to four nesting boxes.
Here's an inside shot.  Wonderful Hubby is going to finish off the inside a bit to make it easier to clean.

It will be a while before they're ready to move to the 'big house' but we hope they'll get acquainted with the dogs by early summer.

Sallie is ready to plant garden!

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope Spring has come to your neighborhood, too!

Spring is looking mighty pretty in your li'l corner of the world. Your Sallie is so sweet; is that a little hint of mischief I see in her eyes. The baby chicks are so sweet and my goodness....their little home is adorable. Enjoy all that Spring sunshine!

Such stunning photos of spring by you my friend! I have been welcoming any sign I can find in my garden! And you will have to let me know how the chicks go!! We were thinking of getting some as well but we have to get a permit first. The house you got for them is perfect......did you get it online?? Happy gardening friend! Nicole xo

So cute, those little chicks! Your flowers are lovely. Our dogwoods are blooming now, and the forsythias are in full swing here too.

We just got 4 barred rock chicks. They're still in the spare room. Is Sadie a border collie or an Aussie? she's lovely! We have a BC named Bay.

A thought about your chicken coop... if you put it up on stilts then it will be harder for predators to break into. Having years of chicken experience, predators will come. May the Lord bless your flock!

Spring is such a joyful, happy time! Everything is so fresh and beautiful, and one cannot help but delight in the buds, blooms and sweet little animals of this season...
I'm beginning to feel a little envious as it is Autumn in South Africa now...:) Snuggly days in front of the fire with knitting needles are fast approaching...
Aww! The chicks are too adorable and so is your canine helper!
Enjoy your springtime and thank you for sharing some sunshine with us:)
Visiting from Roses of Inspiration today!
With much love in Christ,
Kelly-Anne

Your coop is just darling! And your garden is really putting on a show. I have got to find some of those Dutchman breeches for next year. I went to 4 nurseries looking for a Magnolia this year and not one of them had one. Maybe next year. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
